Intervention (working title: Funny Farm ) is a British film drama from the year 2007 . Directed by Mary McGuckian , who also wrote the script and co-produced the film.

action

The action takes place in a rehab clinic in New Mexico that targets celebrities. It is run by the couple Kelly and Bill. A group of different people is admitted there for four weeks and treated there. These include drug addict Mark, who works in the porn industry, as well as comedian Joe, who has a drinking problem. The drug addict Sarah used to appear as a model. The patients are visited by their families with whom they spend a weekend together.

Jennifer Tilly and Mary McGuckian received awards from the San Diego Film Festival in 2007 .

The film is part of a trilogy that began with Rag Tale (2005). According to a statement by the authors, it addresses the use and abuse of authority. It also addresses the change in perception of moral values.

The film was shot in London and New Mexico . After its world premiere in Great Britain in 2007, it was shown on August 8, 2007 at the Rhode Island International Film Festival , followed by the Spanish Ourense International Film Festival on November 17, 2007 .
