Rag Tale is a British - Luxembourg comedy film from 2005 . Directed by Mary McGuckian , who also wrote the script and co-produced the film.

action

Eddy Taylor, who works for the London-based company Global Media Inc., feels bored with the US elections and is looking for a new story for his newspaper. He starts a campaign with the aim of demolishing Buckingham Palace ( Bulldoze Buck Palace ). The only person who opposes the suggestion is US-born editor Mary Josephine Morton, wife of CEO Richard Morton, who is a staunch monarchist.

Taylor is instructed by Richard Morton to publish benevolent contributions to the monarchy, but he continues his campaign. To save his job, he develops a plan according to which his boss and his wife are to be involved in a drug affair.

Reviews

Ray Bennett criticized the style in The Hollywood Reporter magazine on Aug. 15, 2005, writing that it was difficult to imagine an audience that would stay in their seats until the end. The film is a " terrible failure " and it " attacks the eyes ".

Derek Elley praised the " chic " cast of Rupert Graves, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Malcolm McDowell and the plot in Variety magazine on August 22, 2005 . The camera work and the editing would " torpedo " the strong points of the " satire on the British media world ".
