Iowa Park is a city in Wichita County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located 8 km west of Wichita Falls in northern Texas, is about 10 km from the Oklahoma border and has a total area of 10.4 km², of which 1.0 km² is water.
history
The place was founded in 1888 as the Daggett Switch on the Fort Worth and Denver City Railway line . Iowa settlers gave the place its name according to where it came from .

According to the 2000 census, 6,431 people in 2,460 households and 1,867 families lived here. The population density was 682.1 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 95.96% White, 0.26% African American, 1.09% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, and 0.90% other ethnic groups. About 1.38% were of mixed race and 3.58% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 2,460 households, 37.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 60.7% of these were married couples living together. 11.2% were single mothers and 24.1% were non-families. 21.5% of all households were single households and 9.3% had people living there who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.02.
27.5% of the population were under 18 years old, 8.4% 18 to 24, 28.4% 25 to 44, 21.8% 45 to 64, and 14.0% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 92.4 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 89.2 men.
The median income for a household in the 40,725 USD , and the median income for a family 45,199 USD. Males had a median income of $ 31,372 versus $ 21,237 for females. The per capita income was $ 16,882. 10.0% of the population and 7.1% of families are below the poverty line. Of these, 18.4% were children and adolescents under 18 years of age and 6.3% were 65 or older.
