Skladnewa started internationally for the first time at the Junior World Ski Championships 1993 in Harrachov . There she won over 15 km freestyle and the gold medal with the relay. In the following year she won the bronze medal over 15 km freestyle and the gold medal over 5 km classic at the Junior World Ski Championships in Breitenwang . She completed her first of a total of 46 World Cup individual races in January 1997 in Kawgolowo , which she finished in 32nd place over 15 km freestyle. In the 1997/98 season she came in the points five times and finished 21st in the overall World Cup. In addition, she reached third place in Lahti with the relay and in Falun together with Olga Danilowa in the team sprint, her first podium finishes in the World Cup. In the following season, she achieved 25th place in the overall World Cup with five places in the points. She reached in Nové Město with the ninth place over 15 km freestyle her first top ten place in the World Cup individual. In addition, she was second in the relay in Falun and Oslo .
At the beginning of the 1999/2000 season, Skladnewa won her only World Cup victory with the relay in Kiruna and won third place in the team sprint in Asiago together with Julija Tschepalowa . In the further course of the season she finished in the top ten four times in the World Cup and at the end of the season she achieved her best overall result in the World Cup with 12th place in the overall World Cup. In addition, she ran in the season in Nové Město, Falun and Lahti each in second place with the relay. After third place in Clusone together with Olga Moskalenka in the team sprint and second place over 5 km classic at the Continental Cup in Campra at the beginning of the 2000/01 season, she started in the Marathon Cup . She won the Marcialonga and came second at the Finlandia-hiihto and the Engadin Skimarathon . At the end of the season she finished second in the overall ranking. In December 2001 she came in second place in the Continental Cup in Goms over 5 km freestyle and won there over 10 km freestyle her only victory in this racing series. She ran her last World Cup race in October 2002 in Düsseldorf , which she finished in 45th place in the sprint.
