Isaac Kapa (born July 23, 1985 in Adelaide ) is an Australian beach volleyball player .

Career

Kapa played on the FIVB World Tour with Brett Richardson in 2007 and 2008 , but only had lower placements. Sam Boehm was his partner from 2010 to 2012 . Except for a seventh place at the The Hague Open , Kapa / Boehm did not reach any of the top ranks on the World Tour. At the 2011 World Cup in Rome, the Australians were eliminated after the preliminary round, despite a victory over the Brazilians Thiago / Harley .

In November 2012 Kapa won the Asian Cup with his new partner Christopher McHugh . At the beginning of 2013, McHugh / Kapa celebrated a few tournament victories on the national and continental tour. After a 17th place at the Fuzhou Open and a 25th place at the Grand Slam in Shanghai , they achieved two ninth places on the World Tour in The Hague and Rome . They also qualified for the 2013 World Championships in Stare Jabłonki . Second in the preliminary round and with another win in the first knockout round, they reached the round of 16, in which they had to admit defeat to the Brazilians Pedro / Bruno . They also finished ninth in the Grand Slam in Long Beach before moving up to fifth in Moscow. In 2014 McHugh / Kapa won the Asian Championship, which was also held in China, after finishing ninth at the Grand Slam in Shanghai. On the World Tour there were initially double-digit results, but at the Grand Slam in Klagenfurt they finished third with a win against the Latvians Samoilovs / Šmēdiņš and thus received their first medal at an FIVB tournament.

In 2015 McHugh / Kapa achieved their best World Tour result with fifth place at the Grand Slam in Saint Petersburg . They then took part in the World Cup in the Netherlands ; There they came in second in the group like two years ago and lost again to Brazilian opponents, this time Alison / Bruno . In the following three Grand Slams she got a 17th and two 25th places. They opened the World Tour 2016 with a ninth place in Kisch before they were again Asian champions in front of their home crowd. In the FIVB series, they achieved further top ten results with fifth place at the Cincinnati Open and ninth in the Moscow Grand Slam. After that, Kapa ended his international career.
