Ismael Rodríguez (born January 10, 1981 in Ciudad Madero , Tamaulipas ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of defender .

career

Rodríguez received his first professional contract with the first division club CF Monterrey . Before he was accepted into its first team, however, he first had to collect match practice with its second division farm team Saltillo Soccer , for which he played in the Primera División 'A' last season . He was then accepted into the first team of CF Monterrey, with which he won the Mexican football championship in the 2003 Clausura .

In the summer of 2005 he moved to the reigning champions Club América , for which he was used in the Supercup final held on July 27, 2005 against the capital rivals UNAM Pumas (2-1) and thus won his first title with the Águilas . The following year he also won the 2006 CONCACAF Champions' Cup with America .

In the summer of 2010 Rodríguez moved to the Gallos Blancos Querétaro , for which he only completed two missions. He then played for CD Irapuato in the second division and ended his active career in 2014 with CD Águila in El Salvador .

National team

Rodríguez made his first appearance for the Mexican national team in a friendly on October 15, 2003 against Uruguay , which was lost 2-0.

Rodríguez made five other international appearances in the summer of 2009, when he played the three preliminary group matches and the quarter-finals against Haiti (4-0) in the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 , which Mexico ended up with a 5-0 final victory over arch rivals USA won.
