It's Called a Heart is a song by the British band Depeche Mode . It was released in September 1985 as a single from their album The Singles 81> 85 . In Great Britain the song reached number 18, in the Federal Republic of Germany number 8 in the charts. It's one of the band's few singles that can't be found on a studio album.

history

It's Called a Heart was recorded in early 1985 with Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones and was the second single from the compilation album, after the first new song on the album, Shake the Disease .

Music video

The music video was shot again with director Peter Care . It was taken in a cornfield in Berkshire . Dave Gahan is last seen with blond hair.

reception

Allmusic's Ned Raggett described the track as the band's "weakest single" in the 1980s. He gave the piece two and a half stars out of five.
