Christian Eigner (born March 2, 1971 in Vienna , Austria ) is an Austrian drummer .

Musical career

As a studio musician , Eigner has worked on over 300 albums, including playing for Kurt Ostbahn (studio and live), Peter Cornelius and Georg Danzer .

1997 met owner Dave Clayton , who worked as a keyboardist for Depeche Mode on the production of the album Ultra . Clayton took him to the studio, Eigner played and was finally hired by the band. Since then, Eigner has also been a tour drummer for Depeche Mode. He also works with Andrew Philpott to help Dave Gahan write songs. This resulted in various titles for the albums Playing the Angel , Sounds of the Universe and Spirit . He was also involved in Gahan's solo album Hourglass .

In 2005 he released his first solo album, Recovery . He is also the head of the projects Das Shadow (with Andrew Philpott) and Compact Space (with Daryl Bamonte and Florian Kraemmer).

For the film Die Viertelliterklasse , Eigner wrote the score together with Erich Buchebner.
