Itamar Stein (born February 12, 1983 ) is a former Israeli volleyball player and current coach.

Career

Stein started his volleyball career at home with Hapoel Mateh Ascher and was looked after by Arie Selinger . In 2004 he went to the Netherlands for three years, first to Orion Doetinchem and later to Piet Zoomers Apeldoorn , where he became Dutch champion in 2007. The universal player then moved to France to Beauvais Oise UC, with whom he won the French Cup in 2008. After two years with league rivals Montpellier UC , Stein returned to Israel to Maccabi Hod haScharon before playing again for Beauvais Oise UC in 2011/12. In 2012 he moved to Germany, where he was promoted again with the Bundesliga relegated RWE Volleys Bottrop . Due to financial difficulties in Bottrop, Stein moved to league rivals Moerser SC in December 2013 . In 2014 Moers withdrew from the Bundesliga. Stein then switched to VSG Coburg / Grub . There he suffered a serious injury to his cervical vertebra in the 2014/15 season . He then ended his career as a player and took over the post of head coach in Coburg for the 2015/16 season. After the Coburg team withdrew from the Bundesliga, Stein has been training second division TSV Giesen Grizzlys since 2016 , with whom he was promoted to the first division in 2018.

Private

Stein is married to the Czech Thereza and has a daughter Mia.
