Ivan Močinić (born April 30, 1993 in Rijeka ) is a Croatian football player .

Career

society

Močinić started his career in his hometown at HNK Rijeka . He made his debut for Rijeka in the 1st HNL on matchday 12 of the 2011/12 season against Dinamo Zagreb . He scored his first goal in the 1st HNL on the last day of the 2011/12 season against NK Karlovac . After Močinić had defeated Prestatyn Town , MŠK Žilina and VfB Stuttgart with Rijeka in the qualification , they could qualify for the Europa League in the 2013/14 season . There Močinić was used in every game in Rijeka over the full distance. After four draws and two defeats, however, Rijeka was the last in Group I to be eliminated from the competition. The following season they were also represented again in the Europa League. In the 2015/16 season Močinić became Rijeka's captain.

In July 2016 he moved to Austria to SK Rapid Vienna , where he received a contract that was valid until June 2020. After 14 games in the Bundesliga , his contract was terminated in June 2019. In the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons, he was injured in no appearances for the professionals. He then returned to Croatia in August 2019 and moved to NK Istra in 1961 .

National team

Močinić played for various Croatian junior selections. With the U-19 he took part in the EM in 2012 . He played for Croatia's U-21 team for the first time in March 2013 .

Močinić was part of Croatia's actual squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil , without ever having been in the senior national team . However, after injuring his ankle, he was replaced by Milan Badelj .

In November 2015 Močinić finally made his debut for the senior team in a friendly against Russia .

Personal

His father Efrem Močinić was active as a professional footballer in Austria in the 1990s . He played for Austria Salzburg and SV Braunau , among others .
