There he started together with Pawel Silin in a two-seater, but only came in tenth and last place. The next year he started at the Junior European Championship 2007 in St. Sebastian together with Stanislaw Kowschik and reached fourth place, only 13 hundredths of a second behind third-placed Michael and Simon Kalchschmid . From 2008 he started again with Pawel Silin, who remained his fixed two-seater partner for two years. At the Junior World Championships 2008 in Latsch they achieved fifth place and at the European Championships 2008 in Olang they achieved eleventh place in the doubles. The next year they took tenth place in the doubles at the 2009 World Championships in Moos in Passeier , but were disqualified at the 2009 European Junior Championships in Longiarü . At the end of February 2009 they made their World Cup debut in Nowouralsk . They achieved two ninth places in the last two races of the 2008/2009 season , but only came 13th and last in the overall World Cup.

In the 2009/2010 World Cup season , Iwan Rodin and Pawel Silin competed in four of the six World Cup races. They finished eighth and tenth twice and came ninth in the overall standings, tied with Italians Florian Breitenberger and David Mair . At the 2010 European Championships in St. Sebastian they finished ninth in the two-seater and together with Lyudmila Astramowitsch and Juri Talych as Team Russia II, they finished eighth in the team competition. At the 2010 Junior World Championships in Deutschnofen , two weeks later , Iwan Rodin and Pawel Silin won the bronze medal in the doubles behind the two Austrian duos Thomas Kammerlander / Christoph Regensburger and Dominik Apolloner / Dieter Apolloner .

After Rodin had not participated in any international competitions in the winter of 2010/2011, he started in the 2011/2012 season with Stanislaw Kowschik in a doubles seat. They took part in all six World Cup races, achieved positions around 10th place and finished eighth in the overall World Cup. At the European Championship 2012, however, the doubles did not start.
