Christoph Regensburger (born March 11, 1993 ) is an Austrian natural toboggan runner . He achieved his greatest successes together with Thomas Kammerlander in a two-seater. In 2009 and 2013 they became European junior champions and Austrian national champions and 2010 junior world champions . They achieved eight podium finishes in the World Cup and came second overall in the 2015/16 season . Together with Dominik Holzknecht , he became junior world champion in the doubles for the second time in 2012 .

Career

Christoph Regensburger took part in competitions in the Intercontinental Cup from the 2007/2008 season. In the single-seater he drove four times this winter under the fastest 20 and was 15th in the overall classification; in the two-seater he only contested one race with Michael Kalchschmied , which they finished in sixth position. At the Junior World Championships in Laces in 2008 he competed in the doubles with Thomas Kammerlander, who was three years older than him, and also achieved sixth place there.

From the 2008/2009 season , Christoph Regensburger started in the World Cup together with Thomas Kammerlander . In all five World Cup races they took part in this winter, they finished in the top ten, with three seventh places being their best results. They achieved eighth place in the overall World Cup. On January 4th, 2009 Christoph Regensburger and Thomas Kammerlander became Austrian champions in two-seater on the Grantau natural toboggan run in Umhausen . A month later they won the gold medal at the 2009 Junior European Championships in Longiarü , 2.4 seconds ahead of their team mates Rupert Brüggler and Tobias Angerer .

At the beginning of the 2009/2010 season , Regensburger / Kammerlander achieved their best result in the World Cup with fifth place in the opening race in Nowouralsk . In the further course of the season a sixth and two seventh places followed, but due to a failure in Umhausen they only came eighth in the overall World Cup, as in the previous year. For the first time they also started at an international championship in the general class and achieved fifth place at the 2010 European championship in St. Sebastian . At the European Junior Championships 2011 in Laas , the duo won the silver medal behind the Russians Maxim Zwetkow and Denis Moissejew ; Regensburger finished twelfth in the single-seater.

At the Junior World Championship 2012 in Latsch , Regensburger / Holzknecht secured the gold medal in the doubles. In addition, Christoph Regensburger was fourth in the single-seater.
