The Ivankowoer Reservoir ( Russian Иваньковское водохранилище / Ivankowskoje wodochranilishche ; also "Moscow Sea" or "Volga Reservoir ") is a reservoir on the Volga in the European part of Russia . It is part of the so-called Volga-Kama Cascade .
The dam ( ⊙ ) is located near Dubna around 120 km north of Moscow . It was built together with the Moscow-Volga Canal from 1933 to 1937. The maximum storage volume of the reservoir is 1,120 million m³ of water and covers an area of 327 km².
The run-of-river power plant is equipped with Kaplan turbines with a total bottleneck capacity of 30 megawatts . It produces 130 million kWh of electricity annually.
