Józef Górzyński
Józef Górzyński (born March 5, 1959 in Żelechów , Poland ) is a Polish clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Warmia .
Life
Józef Górzyński received the sacrament of ordination from Cardinal Józef Glemp on June 2, 1985 . From 1985 to 1987 he was vicar in Grójec . From 1987 to 1992 he studied at the College of the Benedictine Order , the Pontifical Athenaeum Sant'Anselmo . He then became Prefect of the Archbishop's Seminary in Warsaw and in 1993 Professor of Liturgy . In 1997 he was at the Academy of Catholic Theology Today Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw , the Doctor of theology doctorate . In 1999 he became chairman of the Theological Commission for Renewal in the Holy Spirit.
From 2002 to 2007 he was Vice-President of the Liturgical Commission of the Archdiocese of Warsaw and from 2004 to 2012 he was Pastor of the Parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Warsaw. From 2008 to 2013 he was a member of the Priestly Council of the Archdiocese of Warsaw and from 2012 to 2013 moderator of the Curia.
On November 4, 2013 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Leontium and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Warsaw . The Archbishop of Warsaw, Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz , donated him and the Auxiliary Bishop Rafał Markowski, who was appointed at the same time, episcopal ordination on December 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the emeritus Bishop of Warsaw-Praga , Kazimierz Romaniuk , and the Apostolic Nuncio in Poland, Archbishop Celestino Migliore .
In the Polish Bishops' Conference he is a member of the Committee for Divine Services and the Order of the Sacraments.
Pope Francis appointed him Coadjutor Archbishop of Warmia on February 10, 2015 . The inauguration took place two days later. With Wojciech Ziemba's resignation on October 15, 2016, he succeeded him as Archbishop of Warmia.
