Jewish cemetery (Ochtendung)
The Jewish cemetery Ochtendung is a Jewish cemetery in Ochtendung , a local community in the district of Mayen-Koblenz ( Rhineland-Palatinate ). The cemetery is a protected cultural monument and is located on Hürtersweg.
history
The Jewish community of Ochtendung first buried their dead in the Jewish cemetery in Bassenheim . A separate cemetery was created around 1875. The 3.25 ares large cemetery was first occupied around 1879.
During the Nazi era , the cemetery was destroyed and the tombstones ( mazewot ) were removed.
In the cemetery there is a memorial stone with the following inscription: In memory of the Jewish fellow citizens of Ochtendung and their brothers and sisters who perished in the concentration camps .
