Jacques Benoit-Gonnin (born June 24, 1952 in Thoiry , France) is Bishop of Beauvais .

Life

After studying law and administration, Jacques Benoit-Gonnin earned a bachelor's degree and a licentiate in Catholic theology as well as a licentiate and doctorate in canon law . He was ordained a priest in 1985 as a member of the Emmanuel Community for the Archdiocese of Paris . After a few years as a school chaplain, he became vicar in the parish of Saint Trinité in 1989 . During this time he also accompanied the seminarians of the Emmanuel Community. In 1991 Archbishop Lustiger appointed him director of the Maison Saint-Augustin, where young men can prepare for theology studies and distinguish their vocation. In 1995 he became responsible for the priests and seminarians of the Emmanuel Community. Since 2002 he was pastor at the Saint Trinité.

On March 18, 2010 he was succeeded Jean-Paul James by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Bishop of Beauvais. The Parisian Archbishop André Cardinal Vingt-Trois donated him episcopal ordination on May 2, 2010 in the Cathedral of Beauvais ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Reims , Thierry Jordan , and the Bishop of Nantes , Jean-Paul James.
