Jacy Diniz Rocha
Jacy Diniz Rocha (born September 29, 1958 in São João Evangelista , Minas Gerais ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of São Luíz de Cáceres .
Life
Jacy Diniz Rocha studied at the seminary in Brasília , at the Theological College in Barra and at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte . On May 26, 1984, he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Barreiras .
After his ordination he was active in pastoral care, in vocational pastoral work and as an educator at the diocese's propaedeutic . In 2003 he moved to the diocese of Guanhães , in whose clergy he was incardinated on January 23, 2006 . Here he was active in parish pastoral care and was responsible for the training of pastoral workers. Until his appointment as bishop he was pastor in Coluna and diocesan coordinator for pastoral care. He was a member of the council of priests and the college of consultors.
On May 10, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of São Luíz de Cáceres. The bishop of Caratinga , Emanuel Messias de Oliveira , gave him episcopal ordination on July 8th of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Guanhães, Jeremias Antônio de Jesus , and the Bishop of Araçuaí , Marcello Romano .
