Jakob Johann von Igelström
Count Jakob Johann von Igelström (born July 19, 1735 in Kerrafer , † February 14, 1804 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Swedish-Baltic baron and chamberlain , whose family was raised to the rank of imperial count in 1792 .
history
The landlord of the Livonian estates Ülzen (since 1773), Pölcks (1786–1794) and Schwanenburg (since 1797) campaigned for the farmers of his lands from 1802 for limited freedom and leasehold land . In the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was Roman imperial vice chamberlain and chamberlain at the imperial Russian court.
Origin and family
Jakob Johann v. I. came from the Swedish noble family von Igelström , who had lived there since around 1600 . His father was the country marshal Gustav Heinrich von Igelström (1695–1771), who was married to Margarethe von Albedyll . His brother was the Imperial Russian Infantry General Otto Heinrich von Igelström (1737-1823). Jakob Johann married Sophie Elisabeth von Lieven (* 1756 in Mitau , † 1793 in Leipzig ) in 1773 .
Gustav Otto Andreas von Igelström
Her son was Gustav Otto Andreas Graf von Igelström (* 1777, † 1801 in Leipzig), who served as a major in the Imperial Russian Army and died unmarried in Leipzig in 1801. He was a writer and wrote, among other things, the work " On the Influence of the Study of Natural History on State Knowledge and Civic Happiness ". A longtime companion and teacher was Johann Gottfried Seume (1763-1810).
