James Corwin Mackey (born February 25, 1986 in Kansas City , Missouri ) is a professional American poker player .

Mackey is from Kansas City . He attended the University of Missouri at Columbia , but dropped out due to his poker career. Mackey lives in Las Vegas .
Poker career
From July 2006 to January 2017, Mackey played online under the nicknames mig.com ( PokerStars ) , Mig_com ( Full Tilt Poker ) , JamesMackey (Hero Poker) and mig_net ( partypoker ) . During this period he earned almost four million US dollars in prize money with tournament poker , the majority of which was won on PokerStars . There Mackey won a tournament of the World Championship of Online Poker in September 2007 , for which he received around 580,000 US dollars. Since 2007 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments.
Mackey won his first live cash prize in January 2007 at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event in the Bahamas , where he was eligible to play before his 21st birthday. In June 2007 he was allowed to take part in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for the first time and won a tournament of the No Limit Hold'em variant . For this he prevailed against 639 other players and secured a bonus of around 730,000 US dollars and, as the third-youngest player at the time, a bracelet . At the 2008 WSOP , he was runner-up in the mixed 8-game world championship , which was paid for just under $ 300,000. In early December 2008, Mackey won an event at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas and secured the grand prize of more than 200,000 US dollars. At the 2012 WSOP , he took third place, worth over $ 285,000. In mid-April 2014, he reached the final table at the World Poker Tour (WPT) main event in Hollywood , Florida , finishing the tournament third for around $ 440,000. In early August 2016, Mackey won the WPT Main Event in Durant for a prize of more than $ 665,000. He made another final table at the 2018 WSOP , earning around $ 285,000 for second place.
Overall, Mackey has earned more than $ 4 million in poker in live tournaments.
