James Peter Davis (born June 9, 1904 in Houghton , Michigan , USA ; † March 4, 1988 ) was the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Santa Fe .

Life

James Peter Davis received on 19 May 1929, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On July 3, 1943, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of San Juan de Puerto Rico . The Bishop of Tucson , Daniel James Gercke , ordained him episcopal on October 6 of that year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in San Francisco , Thomas Arthur Connolly , and the auxiliary bishop in Los Angeles , Joseph Thomas McGucken . Pope John XXIII appointed him on April 30, 1960 Archbishop of San Juan de Puerto Rico.

On January 3, 1964, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Santa Fe. James Peter Davis resigned as Archbishop of Santa Fe on June 1, 1974.
