Edwin Vincent Byrne
Edwin Vincent Byrne (born August 9, 1891 in Philadelphia , USA ; † July 25, 1963 ) was Archbishop of Santa Fe .
Life
Edwin Byrne received on 22 May 1915 by the Archbishop of Philadelphia , Edmond Francis Prendergast , the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On June 23, 1925, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Ponce . The Archbishop of Philadelphia, Denis Joseph Cardinal Dougherty , ordained him episcopal on November 30 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Wheeling , John Joseph Swint , and the auxiliary bishop in Scranton , Andrew James Louis Brennan . Pius XI. appointed him on March 8, 1929 Bishop of San Juan de Puerto Rico .
On June 12, 1943, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Archbishop of Santa Fe.
