Jamie Parker

Jamie Parker (born August 14, 1979 in Middlesbrough , North Yorkshire ) is a British film and theater actor .

Life

Parker grew up in the Scottish capital Edinburgh , where he attended school. As a child he was on stage at the British National Youth Music Theater , where he gained his first experience, like other young actors who are successful today, including Jamie Bell and Ben Barnes . As a young man, Parker graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art , where he graduated in 2002.

After minor stage engagements in Oxford and Chichester , his breakthrough came in 2004 when he was appointed to the Royal National Theater , where he took on one of the leading roles in Alan Bennett's play The History Boys . For almost two years he was on stage in various theaters in England as part of this play, and between April and October 2006 even on Broadway in the USA . When the play was adapted into a film in the same year, which was released in German-speaking countries under the title The History Boys - Learning for Life, Parker could also be won as an actor.

Parker has also been in front of the camera as a film actor since 2002, but with the exception of the History Boys , he was initially little known beyond British borders. Hollywood first noticed him in 2008 when director Bryan Singer hired him for his film Operation Walküre - The Stauffenberg Assassination . Parker embodies the German resistance fighter against National Socialism Werner von Haeften .

In 2007 he married actress Deborah Crowe, with whom he has a son.

In December 2015 it was announced that Parker will star in the West End play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with the wizard Harry Potter from 2016 .
