The Jammertal is a nature reserve with a total size of around 60.3 hectares. It consists of three sub-areas in two officially separate sub-areas that form a natural spatial unit. The HF-008 area, which belongs to the city of Herford, has a partial area of ​​around 56.6 hectares; the area BI-037 belonging to the city of Bielefeld with two sub-areas a size of around 3.7 ha.

Flora and fauna

The area protects a sifting system that is typical of the Ravensberg hill country and is extremely well developed here , in particular natural forests, wet meadows , wet pastures and reed beds , as well as communities on and in flowing and still waters.
