The wet meadows Röhrmann are a nature reserve with a size of 0.29  ha in the Ummeln district of the city of Bielefeld . It is managed with the number BI-025. The area was designated as a nature reserve in 1993. It serves to maintain a wet meadow , from Hochstaudenfluren , willow - alder thickets and ponds as a habitat of endangered animal and plant species.

location

The Röhrmann wet meadows are the smallest nature reserve in Bielefeld. En is located at an altitude of around 88 meters south of the town of Ummeln, which belongs to the Brackwede district, directly on the border with the Gütersloh district of Isselhorst . On the northwest side, the Hamm – Minden railway line forms the boundary of the protected area.

Characteristic

The protected area is located within a forest area mainly composed of old Scots pines . On the ground there is a layer of herbs consisting mainly of blackberries . Other species include buckthorn, rowanberry , raspberry , red oak and late blooming bird cherry . To the south of the area, there are several ponds that are already in Gütersloh and are not an official part of the protected area. Together with the Röhrmann wet meadows, which act as a buffer zone between the forest habitat and the wet biotopes, they form a biotope network.
