history

Jančí is a foundation of the Benedictine Březová ( Briesau ) provosty . The village was first mentioned in a document in 1386. Since 1412 there is evidence of a bailiff in Gencz . After the destruction of the provost house by the Hussites in 1427, the property of the provost house was divided between the lordship of Grätz and Fulnek , with Jančí coming to Grätz and becoming the southernmost village of the lordship. Around 1720 the village consisted of a hereditary bailiff, twelve farmers, two half-farmers and three Chalupners. David Schenk owned the hereditary bailiwick around 1700, then the Banhayer and Beinhauer family.

In 1834 the village of Jantsch or Jancy consisted of 32 houses in which 224 Moravian- speaking people lived. The main sources of income were agriculture and animal husbandry. There was a vomiting facility in the village . Parish and Schulotz was Briesau. Until the middle of the 19th century, Jantsch remained subordinate to the minority Grätz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Jančí / Jantsch formed a municipality in the judicial district of Wigstadtl from 1849 . From 1869 Jantsch belonged to the Troppau district. At that time the village had 240 inhabitants and consisted of 38 houses. In 1900 there were 246 people in Jantsch, compared to 245 in 1910. In 1930 Jantsch consisted of 48 houses and had 221 inhabitants; In 1939 there were 220. After the Munich Agreement , the Lachish-speaking community was assigned to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Troppau district until 1945 . After the end of the Second World War, the community returned to Czechoslovakia and the German-speaking minority was expelled . In 1949 Jančí was assigned to the newly formed Okres Vítkov, which was repealed during the territorial reform of 1960. In 1950 the village had 163 inhabitants. On January 1, 1977 Jančí was incorporated into Březová. In the 2001 census, there were 143 people in Jančí's 51 houses.
