Jan Gulbransson

Jan Gulbransson (born June 4, 1949 in Munich ) is a German artist who became known primarily through comics . He is a grandson of Olaf Gulbransson and lives in the Haidhausen district of Munich .

Artistic career

In the 1970s he designed puppet figures for the children's programs Kunterbunt , Das feuerrote Spielmobil (the dogs Biff and Wuff ) and Rappelkiste . He also illustrated the Berti booklets (texts: Thomas Fröhling), which appeared in the Pelikan children's book series .

From 1981 to 2001 wrote and drew Gulbransson for the Dutch Sanoma publishing house Donald Duck stories, most of which have now been published in Germany as The Tiger of Bengal , Gonzo, the giant ground squirrels or the freedom of the seas . He has been producing Disney comics for Egmont since 2012 .

In 1990 Gulbransson designed animated films and advertisements for the Winter Olympics on behalf of German television . In 1999 Globi appeared on Patrouille Suisse with text and drawings by Jan Gulbransson and Gabriel Nemeth as well as computer graphics by Dieter Steyer (Zurich: Globi Verlag). For the free pharmacy newspaper Medizini he drew the comic series Willi Wurm and his friends , later replaced by the series Willi Wurm , which is still produced by him and Gabriel Nemeth today.

In 2012, Gulbransson drew the eight-part cycle Die Ducks in Deutschland , based on an idea from Ehapa editor-in-chief Peter Höpfner , which was initially printed in the weekly Mickey Mouse (there in issues 35–42 / 2012). At the same time, a comic page was printed in the Bild newspaper. In the cycle, the Ducks travel back to Berlin in search of treasure from Berlin via Hamburg , the Ruhr area , Munich , Frankfurt am Main , Cologne , Stuttgart and Dresden . The cycle was also reprinted in a volume in 2013. This was followed in October 2013 by The Ducks in the Alps .

In 2018, Donald Duck by Jan Gulbransson was published in the Egmont Comic Collection, an anthology with selected comics by Jan Gulbransson.
