Jan Liem

Jan Liem , actually Sun Jan Wonosutanto (* 1989 in Cologne ) is a German actor .

Life

January Liem was the real name Sun January Wonosutanto the son of Indonesian born parents and grew up in his hometown of Cologne. His ancestors once immigrated to Indonesia from China . He attended the Schiller Gymnasium in Cologne , where he was a member of the cabaret ensemble "Schiller's Gallstones". In 2007 he was in the production I shoot you off! for the first time on a stage. After graduating from high school, he first traveled through various countries in Southeast Asia for two years .

From 2010 to 2012 he attended the Film Acting School Cologne, which he graduated with honors. He also attended various film workshops (including in the United States and Portugal ) and received singing lessons. His entry into the film and television business began with a small role in the ZDF crime series Marie Brand (2013) and with appearances in several short films . In order to "make ends meet" financially in the early days, he also worked as a salesman, bartender and model .

In the Katie Fforde film series on ZDF, he played a supporting role in the film Bruderherz (2017) as the ambitious assistant and secretary of a well-known photography professor alongside Peter Sattmann , Anja Knauer and Lucas Reiber . He had episode roles u. a. in the TV series Ein Fall von Liebe (2014, as Huang production employee at the side of Arndt Schwering-Sohnrey ), Meuchelbeck (2015, as a bakery apprentice Hiru), Einstein (2017, as the Asian Mafioso Tsao), Blaumacher (2017, as Yaro's brother) and Club of the Red Ribbons (2017, as a police officer). In the 2nd season of the ZDF series SOKO Potsdam (2019) he took on one of the episode roles as a suspect student and brother of a young woman from Laos who has to work as a prostitute in Germany .

Occasionally Liem also does theater. In 2016 he appeared in the lead role of the song Liling in a stage version by M. Butterfly at the Mayen Castle Festival . In 2018, he made his debut at the Stuttgart theaters as a Chinese banker Chao Ling in the play Monsieur Claude und seine daughters in the comedy im Marquardt .

His hobbies include fitness and various Asian martial arts such as Wing Chun . He is a supporter of 1. FC Cologne and the German men's national soccer team . Jan Liem lives in Cologne.
