Jan Kazimierz Wojtas (born November 26, 1966 in Kamienna Góra ) is a Polish archer and former biathlete .

Jan Wojtas lives in Hakbrzych and works as a technician. He started biathlon in 1984 and started first for Górnik Wałbrzych , later for Biathlonu Wałbrzych . In 1986 he took part in the Biathlon World Championships for the first time at Holmenkollen in Oslo , where he finished 75th in the individual. In addition, he took part in the Biathlon World Cup since the mid-1980s . At the 1989 World Championships in Feistritz an der Drau Wojtas finished 40th in the sprint and 69th in the individual. In 1990 in Minsk and 1991 in Lahti , positions seven and eight with the relay were the best results. In Albertville he took part in the Winter Olympics for the first time . In the sprint, the Pole ran to 59th place, with Dariusz Kozłowski , Jan Ziemianin and Krzysztof Sosna he was ninth in the relay competition. Also in 1994 he took part in the Olympic Games in Lillehammer and was 67th in the individual and eighth with Tomasz Sikora , Jan and Wiesław Ziemianin . At the first European Biathlon Championships in 1994 in Kontiolahti , the relay won the silver medal in the same line-up behind the Russian relay. The last major event was the 1995 Biathlon World Championships in Antholz , where Wojtas was 47th in the sprint and seventh in the relay. In 1997 he ended his biathlon career.

He started a second career in the 2000s as a compound bow shooter . He has been a member of the Polish national team since 2014. In Breslau he started at the fourth station of the World Cup and was 33rd in the individual and ninth in the mixed competition. At the Grand Prix in Marathon , the qualifying tournament for the European Championships, he and the team won the bronze medal and finished 17th in the individual. The qualification for a major event only succeeded a year later, when Wojtas at the World Archery Championships in Copenhagen 57th of the individual competition and with Katarzyna Szalanska was 24th in mixed. In July 2015 it was ranked 112th in the world.
