The 2001/02 season was the 36th season of the Japan Ice Hockey League , the highest Japanese ice hockey division . The Kokudo Ice Hockey Club became champions for the eleventh time in the club's history .

mode

In the regular season, each of the six teams played a total of 40 games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. Each team received two points for a win after regular time or overtime, 1.5 points for a win after shootout, one point for a defeat after overtime or shootout, and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
