The 1973/74 season was the eighth season of the Japan Ice Hockey League , the highest Japanese ice hockey division . The Ōji Eagles became champions for the third time in the club's history . Top scorer with 32 points was Takao Hikigi from Master Ōji Eagles.

In the regular season, each of the five teams played a total of twelve games. The first place after the regular season became champion. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
