The 1995/96 season was the 30th season of the Japan Ice Hockey League , the highest Japanese ice hockey division . The Seibu Prince Rabbits became champions for the eighth time in the club's history . Top scorer with 78 points was Ryan Fujita from Master Seibu Prince Rabbits.

In the regular season, each of the six teams played a total of 40 games. The first two winners then played out the champions among themselves in a best-of-five series. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
