Jared Gold

Jared Gold is an American jazz organist and composer living in New York City .

Gold plays the Hammond organ and counts among his influences Larry Young , Jack McDuff and Don Patterson . From 2004 Gold was part of the trio of guitarist Dave Stryker (with Tony Reedus on drums), who previously played with Jack McDuff. He released five albums as a leader on Posi-Tone Records , first in 2008 Solids and Stripes (with Randy Napoleon, Mark Ferber , dr, Seamus Blake , ts), then in 2009 Supersonic (with guitarist Ed Cherry , McClenty Hunter , dr), 2010 Out of Line (with Dave Stryker, Chris Cheek sax, Mark Ferber dr), 2011 All wrapped up (with Quincy Davis, trumpeter Jim Rotondi , and saxophonist Ralph Bowen ) and 2012 Golden Child (with Ed Cherry and Quincy Davis).

Gold also frequently plays in the trio of guitarist Randy Napoleon (with drummer Quincy Davis ), with whom he toured England for example and recorded two albums, first Enjoy the moment 2006. He also performed with William Ash , Dave Stryker (The Chaser) , Avi Rothbard , Dan Pratt, and Oliver Lake ; he also played with John Abercrombie , Adam Nussbaum , Jimmy Ponder , Don Braden , Cecil Brooks III , Bill Goodwin , Jon Gordon , Ralph Peterson and John Swana .

In 2013 he won the Down Beat Poll for Organ in the Rising Star category.
