Bill Goodwin (* 8. January 1942 in Los Angeles ) is an American jazz - drummer and producer.

Bill Goodwin began his career as a professional drummer in 1959, working in California with musicians such as Bill Evans , Dexter Gordon , Art Pepper , Jim Hall , George Shearing , Leroy Vinnegar , Anthony Ortega and Bobby Hutcherson ; he also played in the backing bands of June Christy , Joe Williams , Tony Bennett , Mose Allison and Manhattan Transfer . He came to the east coast of the United States in 1969 in the ensemble of vibraphonist Gary Burton , where he stayed in Burton's group for three years.
