Javier Augusto del Río Alba (born December 22, 1957 in Lima , Peru ) is Archbishop of Arequipa .

Life

Javier del Rio Alba received on 14 December 1983, the sacrament of holy orders and was in the clergy of the diocese of Callao incardinated . He belongs to the movement of the Neocatechumenal Way .

On 12 October 2004 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Phelbes and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Callao. The Bishop of Callao, Miguel Irízar Campos CP , donated him episcopal ordination on November 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Lima , Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani Thorne , and the Apostolic Nuncio in Peru, Archbishop Rino Passigato . The episcopal motto "Surgite eamus" (lat .: "Get up, let's go!" Matthew 26.46  VUL ) is the Passion story taken.
