Jean-Christophe André Robert Lagleize (born November 7, 1954 in Soisy-sous-Montmorency , France ) is Bishop of Metz .

Life

Jean-Christophe Lagleize, the son of an electrician and a housewife, entered the Clermont-Ferrand seminary after training as an accountant and spending two years in this profession . After the military service that he served in Germany, he continued his training at the seminary in Orléans . He graduated from the Higher Institute of Pastoral Catechesis (ISPC) of the Catholic Institute of Paris with a master's degree in pastoral catechetical theology .

Jean-Christophe Lagleize received on 28 June 1981, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 11, 2001, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Valence . The Archbishop of Bourges , Hubert Barbier , donated him episcopal ordination on February 23, 2002 ; Co- consecrators were the bishop emeritus of Valence, Didier-Léon Marchand , and the bishop of Grenoble-Vienne , Louis Dufaux .

On September 27, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Metz. The inauguration took place on November 3, 2013. His coat of arms motto reads in German translation: "In peace and in joy to Jesus Christ."
