Jean-Marie Charles André Le Vert (born April 9, 1959 in Papeete ) is a French Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Bordeaux .

Life

Jean-Marie Le Vert initially embarked on the career of an officer in the French Navy before studying theology. On October 10, 1987, he was ordained a priest . In 1995 he was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Tours .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on November 21, 2005 titular bishop of Simidicca and auxiliary bishop in Meaux . The Archbishop of Tours, Jean Marcel Cardinal Honoré , donated him episcopal ordination on January 8 of the next year ; Co - consecrators were Albert-Marie de Monléon OP , Bishop of Meaux, and André Armand Vingt-Trois , Archbishop of Paris . As a motto he chose Sous son regard, dans l'amour .

On December 7, 2007, he was appointed Bishop of Quimper . Pope Francis accepted his resignation on January 22, 2015. The reason for his resignation was insurmountable tension between Bishop Le Vert and a large part of the diocesan clergy .

Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Briançonnet and auxiliary bishop in Bordeaux on March 9, 2018 .
