Jean Baruth (born December 17, 1967 in Schwerin ) is a former German handball player .

Baruth played on the left winger position . He played for SC Dynamo Berlin and its successor SC Berlin and HC Preußen Berlin until 1991 . From the 1991/1992 season he played at VfL Fredenbeck . With Prussia Berlin he won the GDR championship in 1990. He ended his career with the clubs Oldenburger TB and TSV Bremervörde in the regional league.

In the squad of the GDR men's national handball team , Jean Baruth played at the World Cup (WM) in 1990 , where he finished eighth with his team, and for the German men's national handball team at the 1993 World Cup (6th place). He was a total of 52 times in the ranks of the German Handball Association (DHV) of the GDR and the German Handball Federation (DHB) of the FRG . He scored 111 goals.
