Jeffrey William "Jeff" Jost (born January 2, 1948 in New York , New York ) is a former American bobsleigh athlete .

Jost began his sporting career as a heavyweight wrestler at the High School in Levittown (New York) . He later switched to bobsleigh and took part in two Winter Olympics. In 1980 in Lake Placid he competed with Dick Nalley , Howard Siler and Joe Tyler in the four-man bobsleigh and finished 13th. At the 1984 Winter Games in Sarajevo , he improved to fifth place with his teammates Joe Briski , Tom Barnes and Hal Hoye .

After his active career, Jost was active as an assistant coach of the US bobsleigh team and worked as a state trooper in New York.
