Jeffrey LoVecchio (born August 26, 1985 in Buffalo Grove , Illinois ) is an American ice hockey player who was last under contract with Fehérvár AV19 in the Austrian ice hockey league .

Career

LoVecchio's career began in the United States Hockey League , where he played for the River City Lancers and Omaha Lancers between 2002 and 2005. He then moved to Western Michigan University , where he spent a total of three seasons while studying at the same time. In the last two he was also on the ice as team captain . In spring 2010 LoVecchio got an offer from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League , the second highest division in North America. When farm team of the Boston Bruins Lovecchio spent two and a half years of playing before in the 2010/11 season with the Rochester Americans transferred.

For the 2011/12 season LoVecchio decided to switch to the ECHL . For the Utah Grizzlies he was on the ice a total of 26 times, scoring ten goals and 13 assists. For twelve games he was on the ice with the San Antonio Rampage during the season .

The first move to Europe took place in the summer of 2012, to the top Italian division for HC Alleghe . With 41 points in 43 games, he convinced the Norwegian top club Lillehammer IK , who signed him the following summer. There, too, LoVecchio was able to confirm his strong style of play and scored 58 points in 46 games.

For the 2014/15 season LoVecchio moved to the multinational Erste Bank Ice Hockey League for the Hungarian club Fehérvár AV19 . At the end of the season he spent nine games at Lørenskog IK in the Norwegian GET-ligaen .

In the summer of 2015, LoVecchio moved to Japan to join Nippon Paper Cranes , where he scored 108 points in 96 games over two years. Due to this strong performance, his former employer from the EBEL took notice of him again and signed the American for the 2017/18 season .
