Jeff Perry (born August 16, 1955 in Highland Park , Illinois ) is an American actor with roles in film, television and theater.

Life

Perry grew up in Highland Park, Illinois, the son of Joe and Jane Perry. His father was a teacher at Highland Park High School. At the suggestion of one of his sisters, he played a role in a school play, which sparked his interest in acting.

From a school association, Perry started the production company Steppenwolf Theater Company in Chicago, Illinois, together with his fellow actors Gary Sinise and Terry Kinney, in the basement of a city church , which over time became internationally known and includes actors such as John Malkovich , John Mahoney and Joan All under contract. After spending nearly two decades with the Steppenwolf Theater Company, Perry moved to Los Angeles in 1987, where he continues to work in film and television to this day.

In the Nash Bridges police series , he played the police inspector and die-hard Grateful Dead fan Harvey Leek . He also appeared as the irritable supervisor of Kevin Bacon's Detective in Wild Things (1998). From 1983 to 1992 Perry was married to actress Laurie Metcalf . They have a daughter, Zoe Perry .
