Jeffrey Byron (* 28. November 1955 in Santa Monica , California as Timothy Stafford ) is an American actor .

Life

Byron grew up in show business as the son of actress Anna Lee . Under the name Tim Stafford , he made his feature film debut in 1963 as a child actor in the John Ford comedy Die Hafenkneipe von Tahiti at the side of John Wayne and Lee Marvin . In the following years he had a few guest appearances on television series such as Twilight Zone and Bonanza . His last film appearance was in 1967 in the B-movie Hot Rods to Hell . In 1975 he returned to the film business as Jeffrey Byron ; his appearance as a bellhop in Peter Bogdanovich's film musical At Long Last Love was little more than an extra role . After several other minor film and television roles, Byron received one of the lead roles in the 1978 high school comedy The Seniors, alongside Dennis Quaid and Priscilla Barnes . The following year he played the lead role in the Disney agent comedy James Jr. strikes ; however, neither film became a commercial success. After a few television appearances, several years passed before his next feature film role, but neither were the two science fiction films Metalstorm, made in 1983 and 1984, respectively - The Annihilation of Jared Syn and Ruler of Hell were unable to give his career the decisive boost . For the latter, he was active as a screenwriter for the first time and so far once. He subsequently starred in US soap operas and television films and occasionally took guest roles in television series. His last movie role was in 2009 in a minor supporting role in Star Trek .

Byron was married to actress Gail O'Grady between 1990 and 1991 . In 2005 he married again, and this marriage resulted in a child.
