The Egyptian Premier League 2011/12 was the 55th season of the Egyptian Premier League , the highest Egyptian championship in football since its inception in 1948/49 .
Due to an increase in the field of participants from 16 to 19 teams, the three worst-placed teams of the preseason , al-Ittihad Al-Sakndary , Smouha Sporting Club and al Mokawloon Al Arab did not relegate , but remained in the top division. From the Egyptian Second Division 2010/11 increased El Dakhleya , Ghazl El Mahalla SC and Bani Sweif SC on in the major league. The defending champion is al Ahly Cairo .

The championship was played by the 19 teams in the league system, with each team playing twice against each other team. The championship was canceled on March 10, 2012. At this point, Haras El-Hodood SC was leading the table.

A total of 64 different teams took part in the championship since 1948/49 , but only al Ahly Kairo and al Zamalek SC managed to take part in all championships.
