The Egyptian Premier League 1948/49 was the first season of the Egyptian Premier League , the highest Egyptian championship in football . The season began on October 22, 1948, and not all of the results are known. Champion was al Ahly SC from the capital Cairo .

Participating teams

The following eleven teams took part in the Egyptian Premier League in the 1948/49 season. Four teams came from Alexandria , two each from Giza and Cairo and one each from Ismailia , Port Fuad and Port Said .
