Jeffrey D. Gordon (born in New York ) is an American political advisor who primarily acts in the areas of communications and foreign policy. Gordon worked, among other things, as an advisor to the Republicans and as a spokesman for the Pentagon . He also writes columns for Fox News , The Daily Caller, The Hill, The Washington Times, and other media outlets .

Childhood and youth

Gordon was born in New York and raised in New Jersey . There he graduated from Wall High School. He studied communication at Pennsylvania State University and diplomacy at Norwich University .

Career

In the Navy

After graduating, Gordon began a career in the Navy . There he served as an officer at Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek , Virginia . In the early 1990s, Gordon became a Navy spokesman in many places around the world. As part of this activity, he worked intermittently in Hawaii , Iceland , Cuba and Puerto Rico as well as in Italy , Haiti and Japan .

At the Pentagon

In 2005 he moved to the Pentagon, where he worked as a spokesman , first under Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and later under Robert Gates . The main topics of this time were the discussion about the American prison Guantanamo , the relationship with Venezuela under Hugo Chávez and the fight against drug cartels in Mexico . He worked as the press spokesman for the Pentagon until 2009.

As a political advisor

Jeffrey Gordon has served as a consultant to leading Republican politicians and entrepreneurs. In this role, he worked with former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin , former Arkansas Governor Mick Huckabee and business people Donald Trump , whom he also supported in the 2016 presidential election , and Herman Cain .

Adviser to Herman Cain

In 2011, Gordon became an advisor to Herman Cain, who was running for the Republican presidential nomination. After the candidacy failed, Gordon devoted himself more to his work in the media as a writer of columns in leading newspapers.

Adviser to Donald Trump

In February 2016, Gordon Donald Trump gave his approval and joined his campaign team in March. Gordon was also involved in the scandal over a possible connection between Russia and Trump. In July 2016, he met the Russian Ambassador Sergei Kisljak and spoke out in favor of improving Russian-American relations. In March 2017, he denied a direct connection between the Russian government and Donald Trump's campaign.
