Yegor Viktorovich Silin
Yegor Viktorovich Silin ( Russian Егор Викторович Силин ; born June 25, 1988 in Ischim , Tyumen Oblast ) is a former Russian cyclist .
Career
As a junior rider, Silin won a stage of the Giro di Basilicata in 2005 . In the 2006 season he took fourth place in the overall ranking at the Trofeo Karlsberg and was second overall at the Giro di Basilicata .
In the adult category, Silin won the one-day race Gran Premio Città di Felin in 2008 and the Coppa della Pace in 2009 as well as stages of the Giro Ciclistico d'Italia and the Giro della Valle d'Aosta . In autumn 2009 he was third in the U23 road race of the World Championships.
As a result, Silin received a contract with the UCI ProTeam Katusha from the 2010 season , for which he drove with the Astana Pro Team until the end of the 2016 season with one break in 2012 and 2013 . During this time he competed in five Grand Tours , of which he finished four, with his best placings in 38th place at the Giro d'Italia 2016 and 15th place at the Vuelta a España 2016 . He also won a stage of the Herald Sun Tour in 2011 .
After two years with the Portuguese UCI Professional Continental Team Rádio Popular Boavista , Silin ended his international career at the end of the 2018 season.
