Jelena Stichina ( Russian Елена Стихина , scientific transliteration Elena Stikhina , born December 25, 1986 in Lesnoi ) is a Russian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

After studying piano at the music school in her hometown of Lesnoi , Jelena Stichina studied singing at the Moscow Conservatory and from 2012 to 2014 at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Singing Center in Moscow. After completing her studies, Stichina became a soloist at the Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theater in Vladivostok in 2014, and from 2017 a soloist at the Mariinsky Theater in Saint Petersburg . In just a few years, Stichina has developed an extensive repertoire with a focus on Puccini, Verdi and Russian opera . Since 2017 she has appeared at the most important opera houses around the world. In May 2018 she sang im under the direction of Valery GergievGasteig and, for the first time, Senta in Richard Wagner's Fliegendem Holländer at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden . In April 2019, Stichina made her debut as Cio-Cio-San in Puccini's Madama Butterfly at the Dutch Opera in Amsterdam . At the Salzburg Festival 2019 she sang the title role in Cherubini's Médée .
