Jennifer Darling

Jennifer Darling (born June 19, 1946 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is an American actress and voice actress . She was best known for her role as a secretary in the two 1970s television series The Six Million Dollar Man and The Seven Million Dollar Woman .

Life

Darling grew up in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and started dancing at the age of three. She attended a Gene Kelly dance studio and made her first appearances at the age of six. At 14, she appeared as a singer on Ted Mack & the Original Amateur Hour . She attended the Pittsburgh Playhouse School of Acting and then Carnegie Mellon University , where she graduated as a stage actress. She then appeared in the Pittsburgh theater for several years, then moved to Washington, DC , then Connecticut , until she finally appeared on Broadway in the late 1960s .

In 1954 she appeared as an actress in the soap opera The Secret Storm , where she portrayed what is believed to be the first prostitute on American television. In 1973 she began her Hollywood career with a role in the series Temperatures Rising and the two hit series The Six Million Dollar Man and the spin-off The Seven Million Dollar Woman . In 1977 she was also a regular guest on Eight Is Enough .

In the 1980s she was a guest star on various popular television series such as LA Law - Star Lawyers, Tricks, Trials , Murder Without a Trace or Cheers . She received an Emmy nomination in 1987 for her guest role in Inspector Hooperman . In the early 1980s she also began working as a voice actress for various cartoon series . For example, from 1982 to 1989 she spoke Princess Salvina in the cartoon series The Smurfs , various roles in the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles or in the series Mice to Power .
