Jens Daryousch Ravari

Jens Daryousch Ravari (born October 31, 1985 in Gießen ) is a German theater and event director .

Life

Jens Daryousch Ravari grew up in Ahrdt in Central Hesse , in the municipality of Hohenahr , as the son of a German nurse and an Iranian graduate engineer. After graduating from the Johanneum Gymnasium Herborn, he studied music and German at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . During his school days he started as an extra at the Stadttheater Gießen and was on stage from 2002 to 2010 in 35 different productions and over 300 performances as a singer, dancer and actor.

At the same time he played several leading and title roles in various regional productions, including as " Jekyll & Hyde" in the Wildhorn musical of the same name at the Goetheschule Wetzlar , as "Galileo Figaro" in We Will Rock You at the Herderschule Giessen and as "Seymour" in The small horror shop at the Schiffenberg monastery .

After assisting and interning at the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg and the Bad Hersfeld Festival , from 2010 to 2013 Ravari took on a permanent position as an assistant director and director in the music theater of Konzert Theater Bern (formerly Stadttheater Bern ) and set up his own company in 2014.

Jens Daryousch Ravari has lived in Switzerland since 2010 .

Theater and event productions

During his school days in Herborn and his studies in Giessen, Ravari staged musicals such as Rent , We Will Rock You , Les Miserables and Sophies Welt . In Switzerland he directs several (music) theater productions, including Carl Zeller 's Der Vogelhändler in a Bern-German version, Diary of a Missing Person by Leoš Janáček and Animal Farm based on the novel by George Orwell .

The first event productions were the “Swiss Media Prize” in 2013 and 2014 in Bern and the “ Henri Nannen Prize ” in Hamburg in 2014, in which Ravari assisted the artistic director Gunther Len Schönfeld.

For the first time as a theater producer , Ravari appeared with the family musical Berner Christmas . In 2015, the tour took place in several cities and municipalities in the canton of Bern and was supported by Coop as a presenting sponsor.

With the staging of the official ceremony for "70 Years of Hesse" on December 1, 2016 at the Wiesbaden State Theater , Ravari set new standards in the anniversary and ceremony staging . Several regional and national media reported on the event and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung named Ravari one of the top “people of the week”.

As the director of the anniversary ceremony for "200 years of Senckenberg " on August 18, 2017 in the Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt am Main , he was able to repeat the success. The Mayor of Frankfurt , Peter Feldmann, commented on the event with the words: “Wow, what a show - there has never been anything like this in the Bockenheimer Depot”.

Ravari has been the director responsible for the musical productions at Waggonhalle Marburg since 2019 and has been its artistic director since 2020.

As the initiator of the MusicalCamps and president of the “KidsEntertainment” association, Ravari has been committed to promoting the next generation of young people and children in Switzerland and Germany who are enthusiastic about music and theater since 2014 .
