Life

Rose moved to Mount Maunganui, New Zealand in the Bay of Plenty area when she was eight. From 2000 to 2003 she attended Mount Maunganui College. She then attended an acting class at Studio 111 in Auckland . In January 2004 she moved to Auckland and studied Make Up at the Academy of Film and Television. After graduating from high school in April 2006, Rose lived in Los Angeles .

Career

Looking for acting jobs she found an entry for an independent film project called The Children of Anchor Cove on the Internet platform Craigslist . She auditioned for the lead role and got the role of Bree . Rose signed a nondisclosure agreement and was told the project would be featured in a series of videos across the internet around the world. The idea initially made her uncomfortable as she was afraid the project would amount to pornography . But since that was not the case, she decided to participate. Though she wasn't paid for it initially, she and her co-star Yousef Abu Taleb got their salaries as lonelygirl15 became a success. So Rose finally made her leading role debut in lonelygirl15 in the summer of 2006 . She played the role of Bree , a 16-year-olds, the home schooling takes to complete and under her pseudonym lonelygirl15 many video - blogs on YouTube appears. The videos, which appear real and depict lonelygirl15 as a real person who originally dealt with typical teenage fears, are soon pushed into the background after introducing a bizarre story about secret occult practices within their family. The series became an instant hit and the channel became the most subscribed on YouTube. However, it could not be clearly proven whether the videos were actually true or just a fictional publicity stunt. According to research by the Los Angeles Times , the videos are a work of fiction. Nonetheless, there was a media storm in September 2006, in which Rose and the makers of lonelygirl15 received great international attention and were interviewed by various magazines and television programs. In October 2006, the United Nations selected Rose over her character, Bree , to participate in a campaign against poverty. In 2007 Rose won a Webby for the role of Bree .

In November 2008, Rose teamed up with friend and colleague Taryn Southern and started web production company Webutantes to produce a women- related comedy web series. Both presented the project together at the Streamy Awards 2009.
