Jessica Malsiner (born September 23, 2002 in Sterzing , South Tyrol ) is an Italian ski jumper . Her older sisters Manuela and Lara are also ski jumpers.

Career

Jessica Malsiner made her international debut on January 30th, 2016 at the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2016 in Tarvisio and Villach at the age of 13. Both in the individual from the middle hill and with the team she only reached the lower ranks. In the following years she competed regularly in the ski jumping Alpine Cup . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Kandersteg in 2018 , she took 45th place in the individual and tenth place in the team event together with Alice Puntel , Martina Ambrosi and her sister Lara Malsiner . In mid-September 2018, she finished twelfth at the FIS Carpath Cup in Râșnov .

Malsiner made a big leap in performance in summer 2019. For example, she reached the top 10 for the first time in eighth place in the opening competition of the summer tour as part of the Alpencup in Klingenthal . A few days later, she won both competitions on the Pöhlbachschanze in Pöhla . After she was able to achieve strong results at the third station in Bischofsgrün , Malsiner won the overall tour standings ahead of her teammates Annika Sieff and Daniela Dejori . On December 13, 2019, Malsiner made his debut in the Continental Cup in Notodden . In doing so, she immediately achieved her first win from Tveitanbakken ahead of the two second-placed Kristina Prokopjewa and Sophie Sorschag . The Youth Olympic Winter Games in 2020 in Lausanne took Malsiner ninth.
